Chichicastenango Celebrates: Introduction to the annotated photo collection book

In 2012 I bought a Groupon for a photobook. As I remember it, the coupon was good for 120 days after purchase, and at about the 115 day mark I suddenly found myself with a few days to throw together a project. So I hurriedly ran through some exponentially large number of photos tucked away in the recesses of my hard disk, and came up with a collection I had taken at various times over the previous few years on trips to Chichi. This and subsequent posts are pasted images of the pages of the book. The pages shown here are an introduction to Chichi itself and the cultural and historic Catholicism of most of its holidays.
